Artists are invited to paint en plein air at this home during an annual event called Opera by the Sea. The gardens here are beautiful, and the ambiance with all the wonderful music--make this the most memorable place I have attended and painted. The verse in my head as I painted this work was "...and all my troubles fade away." The original Opera by the Sea has been sold. -- Jan

Welcome to my world of art, the things I've seen and the places I've experienced. I am an artist, living on the central coast of California, who enjoys painting and photography. I retired from California State University, Bakersfield, in 2001, after 27 years of service. My husband and I began traveling in 2003, and I began my career in the arts on November 1, 2010. I have spent the last few years developing my style; taking workshops under a few outstanding plein air artists; and continuing to visualize great scenes for painting. My husband, two daughters and four grandchildren will be the focus of my life until the day I die. By this focus and the grace of God, I hope to master the arts in my lifetime.
